17-10-2011 Update

We are now less than 18 months away from the next Falcon GT Nationals at Bathurst and things are starting to move behind the scenes.  We have been overwhelmed by the interest in this event however we are still a little way off being in a position to put out entry forms as we are trying to keep costs to a minimum for those who travel to the event.  We anticipate entry forms going out in the first quarter of next year and this will still be over 12 months to the event. One of the first items to address is the booking of hotel rooms at the Citigate Mount Panorama.  There are a limited number of rooms and these will be divided fairly between the clubs from around Australia based on previous attendances.  We will be allowing pre-entries for those who want to book the hotel.  Please note this will be a tentative booking that won’t be confirmed until the entry fee has been paid and we advise the Citigate that the booking can be confirmed.  There will be one room per entry and no multiple bookings.

Pre-entry

To do a pre-entry is simply a matter of emailing 2013nationals@falcongtclubnsw.com .  In the email you should state that you are a current financial member of the club you will be representing and provide the following information:

Name:

Club and Member No:

Address:

Phone No:

Email Address:

On submission of a pre-entry application, you will be provided with a booking code, please allow 7-10 days for this process, hopefully it will turn around more quickly.  At this time you will be able to contact the Citigate to book your room using this booking code.  However final confirmation of this booking will not be given until we advise the Citigate that your entry fee has been paid.   So put simply you can reserve the booking of your room at the hotel and once you have paid your entry fee this will be confirmed.

Current Arrangements

· We have a booking with the Citigate Hotel for the weekend which has 133 rooms, security parking and bars and restaurants.  This is the hotel that overlooks the track between the Chase and pit straight.  Room prices start for a studio apartment from $165.00 through to 3 bedroom top floor apartments costing $334.00 per night.  Most rooms have view of the track and should make for an exciting venue.

· Thursday and Friday will be booking in and scrutineering etc.  This will be done in the pit area of the track, along the lines of what has become common practice.

· Friday evening our meet and greet will be held on top of the City Gate Hotel, this is an open area with views around Bathurst and the track.  We have contingencies for bad weather. There will be a meal and drinks provided.  This is intended to be informal gathering to catch up with friends from other states and clubs.

· We will hold our concourse on the Saturday and we have access to the pit area for this, though this is open for review if people have strong views on it.  Another option is the showground as previously used.   We will be having various rides and activities for children, easy access to the motor museum and a display of various historic motor vehicles with a Bathurst history.  We will be able to access the garages for trade stands and sponsors; we will also be able to access the corporate area above the pits garages.  There will be various practical displays of products; we are looking to make this a day that will entertain the whole family.  This area can very easily be made safe and secure for all involved.

· A complimentary shuttle bus into Bathurst will be provided by the club during the weekend.

· The Saturday evening meal and entertainment will be held in the pit area and will include spit meat and salads, we will offer a vegetarian alternative if required.  There will also be live entertainment.

· We can confirm a booking with the Bathurst Light Car Club for the Sunday to include events like super sprint and hill climb, final confirmation will occur once numbers are established.

· The Sunday night presentation dinner will be held in the corporate area above the pits, this will also include a catered meal.

· We have been in contact and met with Bathurst City Council and they are aware of our plans and indeed welcome us back.  We will again have a banner across the main street and we have contacts within the council that were there the last time the nationals were held in NSW.

Thanks

2013 Nationals Committee.
